Dod_verdun_b6 is one of the better custom maps available for DODS. It is a very open map, which centers around a large open field area. There are structures at each end where the teams spawn in. There are bunkers and other battlements at the Axis end, and a small town with a church at the Allies end. The map is beautifully constructed and is very realistic-looking.
The map is lightly foggy, there are many objects in the field (cement tank impediments, a bridge, bushes, etc), and the land is somewhat contoured, so there is some cover. It is still a very rifle- and sniper-friendly map.
There are five flags, including a two-man cap on a tank in the middle of the field.
The framerates are good.
The map is suitable for match play. |
