Dod_underhill is a unique map. As you can probably guess by the name, the map is set in a series of underground caverns. The caverns are very cool looking. They look real, with stalagtites and stalagmites all around.
There's one very cool part in one of the cave sections. You come to what looks like a dead end with a large puddle near the wall. But if you go into the water and crouch down, you'll find that you can swim under the wall and come out the other side.
Since many of the caverns look so much a like, there's not sky to look at for reference, and obviously no ability to see into the distance very far, it is very easy to get disoriented. This makes it fairly frustrating for newbies, but there is a good map and mini-map to find your way around.
The map is quite large. If there is one fault of the map, it is that the size and layout make it fairly aggravating to play with less than about ten players. With ten or more players, though, it's a blast.
The framerates are excellent.
The map is suitable for match play. |
