Topic: SunLits Day of Defeat LeagueThe new items published under this topic are as follows.
The startup was postponed until August in recognition of team leaders' concerns that the summer holidays made it impractical to maintain a core team of 6 players.
So far a good number of teams have signed up, the majority weighted to be in an upper conference.
I would really like to see more teams coming in with less experience to flesh out a lower conference of 8 teams. Running one conference with this lineup will just promote a huge number of disputes.
Another consideration is the resurrection of CAL
I realize that a DODS Division has not been confirmed but its likely that the FDL and its supporters will move laterally to CAL if only to acquire a standard AC| program.
I'd like to see if there will be any remaining interest in the SLDL once the "big" league gets back on its feet.
Lastly, I needs be away the last week in August and off and on until September 11 with family commitments.
The SLDL will not likely start until then.

It is up to the team leaders to insure that players on their rosters are eligible to play in the SLDL Players who have been banned in the FDL or other DODS leagues are not eligible.
Simply put, teams that roster banned players or mask their identities through aliases or new steam accounts will find themselves ineligible as well. That includes the leaders and the rest of the players. Policing your own team is part of good sportsmanship.

SLDL 20 Winners
The final match was played on lennon.
Upper conference: Deadlift had a solid win over Immortal Alliance 1071 - 152
Lower conference: Guerilla Partisans and Bankrupt duked it out in a well fought and close match with the Patisans winning 426 - 316.
Congratulations to both Deadlift and Guerilla Partisans on their wins.
My thanks to Cshorey and JonnyLaw for their administrative help.
Team suggestions for league improvement have been duly noted and are being implemented.
I hope the teams return next season to see them in effect .
Cheers

There isn't going to be a double forefit in the semi-finals.
The Final matches will be delayed until Sunday July 25 2010 to allow for this SF match to be played and to deliberate over the Vision |iA| dispute

A reminder to all players in the SLDL:
2.40 Messaging
The acting Team leaders may converse with one another about the match in gobal chat (MM1 communication). No discussion by other members of either clan is allowed except for the customary good game and good luck before and after a match.
In game voice commands are allowed however, "Negativing" or "negging" the opposing team is considered an mm1 infraction. Under extreme cases, (racism, obscenity, antagonism) an infraction may result a match overturn and/or suspension of offending player(s).
Screenshots should be taken of any and each violation, and in the event of a match dispute, they will be required.
3.30a Voice Commands
The use of your voice commands to "taunt" your opponent is considered illegal. Using ANY voice command to "taunt" your dead opponents just to be unsportsmanlike could result in a suspension of the violating player(s).
The intent of the SLDL is to provide a place for teams to compete in a sportsmanlike environment.
It is only three weeks into the regular season and already there have been allegations of persistent asshattery with mm1 infractions and abusive and insulting player name changes. Surely the teams can limit any snarkiness to within their own vent channels and spare their opponents.
Any further documented infractions will result in suspensions.
